Women in Advanced Therapies Pre-Day – 5th September 2023
Despite the rapid growth and development of the cell and gene therapy space, like many other sectors, there remains a gender and skills gap at all levels – from entry-level to board positions. Phacilitate firmly believe that collaboration and inclusion are the keys to unlocking untapped market space, retaining top talent, and staying ahead of the competition.
Borne from the necessity for a specific network dedicated to supporting and championing women within cell and gene therapy, the goal of Women in Advanced Therapies (WIAT) is to build and develop an inclusive community of individuals who can support each other, share experiences, and pave the way for the next generation of leaders in advanced therapies. WIAT is not a DE&I initiative, but an impact initiative and with the biggest need comes the biggest impact.
From mentorship programmes, roundtable discussions, to in person events, WIAT enables this community to come together in a way as never before, to discuss the most pressing topics and challenges, whilst nurturing connections and relationships for future growth (both personal and professional).
Taking place on 5th September, the in-person pre-day meeting of ‘Women in Advanced Therapies’ (in collaboration with Phacilitate’s Advanced Therapies Europe), consists of panel and roundtable discussions combined with networking opportunities which together create an environment for more inclusive, diverse and open conversations to take place.
Join us and help build the foundations to support and champion women in their development and progression throughout advanced therapies.
Tickets cost £99 and attendees are strictly limited to 80 people operating under Chatham House rule, encouraging intimate and personal networking and discussion opportunities.
To sign up, simply add the WIAT Pre-Day to your basket at registration checkout. Register your place here.

“Being a mentor is an opportunity to reflect on yourself as well as support others. I’m pretty sure my mentee will agree that we both got a lot out of it – I certainly did! So if you think you can spare an hour or so a month to take time out to grab a coffee and chat with an inspirational individual at a different stage of career to you, then just go for it, it’s so worth it!”
Lindsey Clarke, VP Commercial, Microfluidx
“The WIAT mentorship program is a fantastic initiative and I am delighted to be part of the network. I was paired with a mentor from a biotech company in the US who I would probably not have had chance to interact with outside of the program. My mentor is a great sounding board who both supports me and challenges my thinking, and has helped shape how I approach my work.”
Katie Griffee, Head of Business Development, Anthony Nolan
