Tobias Brandt is leading the lentiviral vector downstream process development team at CSL Behring. After joining CSL’s recombinant protein team in 2016, Tobias started to build up the lentiviral process development labs at CSL’s Marburg site. Besides process development, Tobias is responsible for downstream scale-up and process transfer to manufacturing sites as well as biosafety.
Tobias acquired his PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK, and the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and holds a diploma in Chemistry from the University of Marburg, Germany. Before joining CSL, Tobias worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Biophysics, Frankfurt, Germany, concentrating on structural biology research of mitochondria using cryo-electron microscopy.
