Lucy Ellerker-Jones is the founder of the Opie Jones Foundation, a UK-based charity focused on creating hope for families whose lives are devastated by childhood cancer by funding emotional and mental health support to family members of children diagnosed with cancer, creating access to CAR-T resources to patients and their families, and advocating for kinder innovative treatments, such as CAR-T therapies, to be more accessible to those who need them. Lucy is mum to her son, Opie, who inspired the foundation after being diagnosed with infant leukemia at the age of 5 months and received a lifesaving CAR-T therapy at 14 months old. In addition to being the founder of the Opie Jones Foundation, Lucy is also a qualified Social worker, working in both adult services and children’s’ services in the UK.
