
Juliana Dias Alves Pinto has been the head of GMP CAR-T Production at the NHS since 2020 and is responsible for life-saving research at the Royal Free Hospital. Before this, Juliana was a Research Associate with the Pule Research Team at University College London for 3 years. During this time, she set up a manufacturing platform at the Centre for Cell, Gene and Tissue Therapeutics for the production of GMP CAR-T cells for UCL clinical trials. Juliana also led the development and validation of new manufacturing processes, and implementation of QC activities and supported the regulatory submission and implementation of five CAR-T cell clinical trials. She built a team of capable manufacturing and QC scientists for the delivery of over 50 patient products.
