Joshi Venugopal is the Head of Europe for the Rare Disease stand-alone unit of Novartis. Prior to his current role, he was the Global Head of New Products, where he played an instrumental role in the strategic pivot of Novartis to focus on US market, fewer therapeutic areas and larger products. Joshi has gained an incredible breadth of experience having worked in research, development, global marketing, global medical affairs, and country management at Novartis. He was also the Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Novartis from 2010 to 2012.
Joshi has lived in 9 countries and is interested in the strategic discourse on topics related to healthcare. He has published in The Financial Times and was a TEDx speaker. Joshi holds a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Basel (Switzerland) and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School (USA).
