Bastian Nießing, born in 1991, studied medical engineering with a focus on biomaterials and biomechanics at the University of Stuttgart. His doctoral thesis is on automated genome editing of iPS cells. Since 2017 at Fraunhofer IPT and since 2020 group leader of the Automation in Life Sciences group. The group develops automated concepts and platforms for the production of cell and gene therapeutics and offers consulting services for laboratory automation. 2021 and 2022 he was co Chair of TERMIS.
